The season of Lent is upon us! Lent is the season on the Christian calendar that begins with Ash Wednesday. It is the forty days before Easter (excluding Sundays) when Christians in various denominations spend time in prayer and fasting as we contemplate the sacrifice of Jesus, reflect on our own mortality, and draw closer to God in our daily lives.

As part of our Lenten journey this year, I invite you to join me in observing a holy Lent by participating in all or some of the following worship and prayer opportunities at New Covenant UMC.

Wednesday Prayer Time

Wednesday Prayer Time – 1:00-2:00 p.m. in the sanctuary each Wednesday of Lent beginning February 21. The sanctuary will be open during this time for silent prayer and reflection. A prayer guide will be provided for use.

Worship Opportunities

      Ash Wednesday Worship Service Feb. 14 – 6:00 p.m. in the sanctuary.

      Palm Sunday Worship Service March 24 – 9:30 a.m. in the sanctuary.

      Maundy Thursday Worship Service – March 28 – 6:00 p.m. in the sanctuary with Holy Communion.

      Good Friday Worship Service – March 29 – 12:00 p.m. in the sanctuary.

      Easter Sunday Worship Service – March 31 – 9:30 a.m. in the sanctuary.
