Chasing After Mercy
Not just about receiving mercy, but also being merciful. And God style mercy goes beyond refraining from judgment of another. Mercy is for the guilty. This is about giving someone your shirt after they take your coat. Remember the movie (and book) Les Miserables? Remember the theft brought to the priest with the stolen candle sticks? Not only does the priest not judge or have the man arrested, he gives him more telling him to remember the mercy he has been shown. Most of us feel easily slighted or offended. We presume the worst and think that others are out to get us. What would it mean for us to show mercy?
